Do I have to share a bedroom?
The shared housing program is designed for roommates to live together, so it’s important to embrace that. Building positive relationships with your housemates can really make the experience more enjoyable for everyone.
How many total will be in my apartment?
The number of tenants a unit can accommodate depends on the specific floor plan. Typically, a 2-bedroom apartment can comfortably fit 3 or 4 people, while a 3-bedroom might be suitable for 4 or 5. It’s a great opportunity to meet new neighbors and potentially make some new friendships!
Is the listed rent price split between roommates, or is that just me?
It’s just you. Rent pricing is by the bed, so you’re responsible for your own monthly portion. Your roommates are on their own leases—no splitting, no blame games.
What is included in my rent?
Rent.Live takes care of the essentials—your rent, furniture, and utilities such as water and electricity—so you can enjoy a smooth and simple living experience.
What about internet?
If your property doesn't include internet, you'll need to set it up yourself. Please refer to your move-in email for recommended providers, and get connected ahead of time so you can enjoy a smooth experience during game night without any worries.
What's the first thing I need to pay when applying?
You’ll need to pay a $99 application fee to secure your spot!
When do I pay my rent before moving in?
Rent.Live sets you up for a smooth start—your first full month’s rent (for the month you'll actually be living there) is due 60 days before move-in. For instance, if you're moving in on July 2, you'll be paying August's rent in advance. This gives you a breather while your financial aid gears up.
When is my prorated rent due for the month I move in?
Your prorated rent is due on the 1st day of the month you move in. For example, if your move-in day is June 2, your prorated rent for June is due on June 1.
Can I bring my pet?
Unfortunately, pets aren't permitted in the space. We want to make sure everyone feels comfortable and happy, so please keep your furry or scaly friends at home. Thanks so much for understanding!
What are the rules?
We've got some helpful guidelines to share. You can check out Section 2.1: Rules and Regulations by clicking here. Feel free to read through it when you have a moment—it's designed to help everyone have a smooth experience.
What do I need to bring?
Great question! We’ve got you covered with a packing checklist. Click here to find out what
you need (and what you don’t).
Can I tour the actual apartment before move-in?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to view your specific unit before move-in day. However, you are welcome to tour the property and explore a similar floor plan model, subject to availability.
Will my school’s financial aid pay my rent?
Typically, you’re on your own for rent until your FA kicks in. You'll need to cover rent out-of-pocket at first—so definitely check with your FA rep to find out when your first check drops versus your first rent bill. Stay ahead of the game!
